FAQs
What is a medium?
I will often reference ‘mediums’ and this term is used in my price estimate request form. The term ‘medium’ when applied to art, refers to the materials or supplies that are utilized in order to create a work of art. The mediums I use include but certainly are not limited to: Ink, graphite, watercolor, pastels, charcoal, oil paints, acrylic paints, digital illustration, and plaster.
What if I change my mind after you start working on my commission?
Things happen! I completely understand this. After you pay the $20 deposit and I begin working on your piece, you have 30 days to cancel your commission. The $20 deposit is non-refundable, but this makes sure that I can comfortably allow clients to cancel the commitment within a 30-day time period.
Can you paint me?
I would LOVE to paint you! Just remember that although I create many projects for fun and often use friends and family as subjects, this does not mean that I can always paint everyone who asks. Please consider requesting a commission from me so that I can bring your idea to life and you can support a small business.
How much does commissioning your art cost?
Each piece of art uses different supports, mediums, and application techniques. Some processes take minutes and some can take months. It depends on what you’re looking for. I understand that it may be frustrating to not even know where to budget for a private commission but that is why I have created a form JUST so that you can see how much it is! No commitment or deposit until you see the prices and decide to move forward, or not to (which is okay!!!). Here is the form if you’re interested in seeing prices for every medium and size that I offer.
Do you charge for touch ups or changes?
Absolutely not. The entire time that I am working on your commission, I will be following your direction closely and communicating with you along the way. If you are unhappy at any time, I welcome you to notify me as soon as you feel comfortable. That commission is YOURS, and my job is to make sure that you are happy with your piece. After the work has been delivered, if any scratches, mistakes or buffs occur, I would be so happy to fix it for no charge (shipping does apply to clients that are not local to the Southern Illinois area).
